Hermes Gmail Readonly

A personal, read-only Gmail integration for a self-hosted agent.

This application is a private automation tool used by a single account owner. It lets a self-hosted assistant read that owner's own Gmail mailbox so the owner can ask questions such as "what unread mail needs attention?".

What it can do

• List and search messages in the owner's mailbox.
• Read the content of a message or an entire thread.
• Summarize mail at the owner's request.

What it cannot do

• Send, reply to, forward, or delete mail.
• Change labels, archive, or mark messages as read.
• Access another person's mailbox.

Access scope

The application requests exactly one OAuth scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly. Any token holding a broader scope is rejected by the client.

How data is handled

OAuth credentials are stored on a server controlled by the owner, with file permissions restricted to that account. Message content is processed only to answer the owner's own requests. Nothing is sold, published, or shared with third parties. See the privacy policy for details.
